Step 1: Request Permission
First, you need to request permission to send notifications. This is required before you can subscribe to push notifications.
Step 2: Subscribe to Push Notifications
Subscribe to receive push notifications. The VAPID public key is automatically loaded from the server.
Step 3: Test Server Push Notification
Send a real push notification from the server. This works even when the browser tab is closed or the app is in the background!
Android Testing
To test on Android: Subscribe, then close this tab or lock your phone. The push notification will still arrive because the service worker runs in the background!
